The Ultimate Shining Force 2 Guide started out life as Moogie’s Shining Force 2 Guide back in May of 1996!
I’m Moogie, the woman gamer (and general nerd!) who set up this guide after playing Shining Force 2 as a teen and finding relatively little helpful information about it on the burgeoning worldwide web. My father was working in IT at the time and was encouraging 15 year old me to learn about the internet and websites, so it made sense that one of my first projects was to create a guide dedicated to the amazing RPG I was so enjoying. At the time tech and gaming were very much male dominated areas, so it came as a surprise to many when they found out I was a girl!
The site grew, changed design many times over the years and soon enough had it’s own message board and community – many of whom are still friends to this day.
I never imagined that almost 30 years later the site would still be going strong and have a number of sister sites such as Shining Force Central (and its forum, albeit less busy than in it’s heyday in the 90s and early 00s) and The Ultimate Shining Force Guide
These days the site receives relatively few updates, but is still a first stop for many players seeking help, old and new alike. I’m thankful to all who have supported the site over the years and am always touched when a former SFCer pops in to say hello on my Twitch channel. It’s nice to know the site holds fond memories for many and is still relevant to this day.
