Spell is the Spell's name, LV is the level of that spell the rest of the details refer to, MP is the number of Magic Points to cast the spell, Range is how far from the player the spell can be cast, Affect is the area over which the spell has affect and the Effect is the result of the spell.

The following icons are displayed on characters/monsters stats sheets under certain conditions:

When an Attack spell has been cast on them
When a Boost spell has been cast on them
When a character is Cursed (remove with Detox)
When a Muddle spell has been cast on them
When a Sleep spell has been cast on them
When a Slow spell has been cast on them
When a Dispel/Silencing spell has been cast on them
When a character has been poisoned
When a character has been paralysed

Just as your characters can cast spells on monsters, monsters can cast spells on your characters. It is important therefore that you are able to recognise the above symbols and what they mean in order to avoid catastrophies (imagine a muddled Peter, or Slade with a gisarme attacking Bowie!). Poison, Paralysis and Dispel, can be easily cured with a Detox spell. Curses can also be removed with a high level Detox (or through a visit to the Priest), although re-equipping the cursed item will of course bring the curse back too.
